Andrew Champlin is a dance artist based in Berlin. He received a B.A. in Liberal Arts from The New School University in New York City and an MA in Choreography from Stockholm University of the Arts in Sweden. He is currently a PhD Candidate in Artistic Research at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and Zurich University of the Arts.

As a performer he has collaborated with artists such as Xavier le Roy, Madeline Hollander, David Gordon, Ryan McNamara ,Pam Tanowitz, Heather Kravas, and Jillian Peña, whose works have been staged at venues including Art Basel Hong Kong, Art Basel Miami Beach, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art P.S. 1, The Whitney Museum of American Art, and The Palace of Versailles. In 2015, he was nominated for a New York Dance and Performance Bessie Award for Outstanding Performer for his performance in Polly Pocket by Jillian Peña, which also won the Prix Jardin d’Europe in 2014.

After serving as a long time assistant to the independent ballet teacher Janet Panetta, Champlin has been a guest lecturer in dance technique and interdisciplinary performance research various institutions and training programs including The University of the Arts Berlin, Stockholm University of the Arts, Zurich University of the Arts, The New School University, Tanzquartier Vienna, Impulstanz Vienna International Dance Festival, and Cullberg.

He is a graduate of the PEERS program for emerging artistic researchers at Zurich University of the Arts where he continues to coordinate research and pedagogical activities in the Department of Performing Arts and Film.
